Abstract:
The construction areas ports in the coastal shallow-water eastern parts Gulf of Finland have caused a significant reduction of species composition and abundance of water ecosystem. As a result of dredging, dumping and anthropogenic disturbances the natural structure of the seabottom have decreased areas of feeding and spawning grounds for many species of commercial fish species. The high fishery importance of this water areas have significantly decreased.

Основными видами гидротехнических работ, сопровождающих строительство портов в прибрежной части Финского залива и имеющих наиболее сильное воздействие на водную биоту, являются: образование новых территорий, дноуглубление и дампинг грунта. При намыве территорий отчуждается часть литорали и верхней сублиторали, играющие наиболее важную роль в поддержании высокого биоразнообразия гидробионтов.
