Abstract (English):
On March 11, 2011 Japan was struck by an 9,0 earthquake whose epicenter was located in the Pacific, to the east of the Honshu Island, 130 km. to the east from the city of Sendai. This earthquake, the most powerful in Japan’s recorded history, triggered the devastating tsunami which descended upon the north-eastern coast of Honshu Island and brought substantial destruction and fatalities.
