V rezul'tate izmeneniya klimata, stadiynoy degradacii poslednego oledeneniya, evstaticheskogo pod'ema urovnya Mirovogo okeana, glyacioizostaticheskogo vozdymaniya Baltiyskogo schita, neotektonicheskih dvizheniy akvatoriya sovremennogo Baltiyskogo morya proshla neskol'ko etapov razvitiya v golocene. V hode volnovoy i rechnoy pererabotki bol'shogo kolichestva svobodnogo oblomochnogo materiala lednikovogo proishozhdeniya v predelah beregovoy zony paleovodoemov obrazovyvalis' shozhie akkumulyativnye formy (beregovye valy, kosy, plyazhi, dyuny), v nastoyaschee vremya prakticheski vyvedennye iz zony aktivnogo vetrovolnovogo vozdeystviya. Sovremennaya beregovaya zona unasledovala obschie cherty razvitiya rayona i harakterizuetsya shozhimi processami. Reliktovye pribrezhno-morskie formy otlichayutsya morfologicheskimi parametrami i znachitel'no prevyshayut sovremennye. Sostavlennaya baza geodannyh, vklyuchayuschaya v sebya bolee 200 datirovok iz opublikovannyh statey i sbornikov (geologicheskie stancii probootbora, razrezy, skvazhiny i opisaniya obnazheniy) pozvolila opredelit' vozrast ih obrazovaniya. Analiz osobennostey formirovaniya, granulometricheskih harakteristik i morfometrii beregovyh form dal predposylki dlya sozdaniya subregional'nyh kriteriev geneticheskoy interpretacii akkumulyativnyh obrazovaniy.
