Over the past few years in the ports of the North-West of Russia the volume of dredging and land reclamation has sharply increased. The development of transport infrastructure, construction of ports and the formation of new territories continues actively. Seaports need equipped and safe approach channels and aquatic areas with optimal depths.

В стадии подготовки и начала реализации проекты строительства новых аванпортов и грузовых терминалов в регионе Санкт-Петербурга и в странах Балтии. Строящийся морской порт Усть-Луга будет крупнейшим глубоководным портом России на Балтике, который будет принимать крупнотоннажные сухогрузные суда и танкера. Планы развития порта направлены на углубление и расширение акватории и подходных каналов в северном
направлении, где запланировано строительство еще нескольких терминалов.
